How can I report a change of address for my Desjardins U.S. Visa card?

You have two different options for reporting a change of address for your Desjardins U.S. Visa card:

  1. Online through desjardinsmyuscard.com: Select Update My Account from the Account Services tab. Then, download the US CONSUMER CARD NOTICE OF CHANGE AND RELATED SERVICE by clicking the Form button. Fill it out and return it to us by fax at 1-888-875-0444 or by mail at the address below:

Please include the cardholder name, the card number, the new address and the date on which the change will come into effect.

How can I make a payment on my Desjardins U.S. Visa card?

  • By mail: Send the detachable bottom portion of your Desjardins U.S. Visa card statement along with a U.S. dollar cheque to the address below:

  • In-person: Visit a caisse or branch and make a payment from your U.S. dollar account, or pay in cash at the counter. Currency conversion fees will be charged on all payments made in Canadian dollars.

 

Do I have to make payments from a U.S. dollar account?

Yes, online payments need to be made from a U.S. dollar account.

 

How long does it take for payments to be processed?

Please allow enough time for your payment to reach us and be posted to your account before the due date. Online payments made by 4:00 p.m. ET will be processed same day. Given processing times, allow 1 to 3 business days for your payment to be applied to your account.

 

Can I make more than one payment per day?

You can only make one payment per day. Any changes to your payment must be made by the last business day before payment is due. The minimum payment amount is updated when payment is applied to your account.

 

Can I set up a pre-authorized payment so that my account is paid each month?

Unfortunately, you can’t set up pre-authorized payments for your Desjardins U.S. Visa credit card.

 

Can I make a payment that exceeds my credit limit?

No, the payment amount cannot be more than your authorized credit limit.

 

Can I use my card at online casinos?

No. You can’t use Desjardins U.S. Visa cards in online casinos.

 

How can I save my account statement for my Desjardins U.S. Visa card?

  • Online: Log into desjardinsmyuscard.com, then select eStatements from the Account Info tab. Enter your email address.
  • By phone: Contact us at 1-855-898-VISA (1-855-898-8472). An agent will be happy to help you sign up for online account statements.

Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive an email with instructions for viewing the PDF version of your account statement through desjardinsmyuscard.com. You will no longer receive account statements by mail at this point.

You’ll be able to access your last 13 account statements through desjardinsmyuscard.com. Select eStatements from the Account Info tab for your account, then choose the statement you’d like to see.

 

I’m going on a trip and taking my Desjardins U.S. Visa card. What should I do?

Make sure you let us know when you’re travelling outside of Canada and the United States. You can reach us:

  • Online: Log into desjardinsmyuscard.com, and select Travel Centre from the Account Services tab. Enter your departure and return dates. The information you enter at desjardinsmyuscard.com will only apply to your Desjardins U.S. Visa card. If you’re planning to use a different Desjardins credit card during your trip, please fill out a travel notice on AccèsD or contact one of our customer service agents at the number on the back of your card.

Do I need a new personal identification number (PIN) for my Desjardins U.S. Visa card?

Yes. To get your PIN, change it or if you’ve forgotten it, contact PIN NOW by calling 1-866-600-4744.

Here are the steps to follow during your call:

  • Enter your credit card number, the primary cardholder’s date of birth and the card CVV,* then choose a new PIN.
  • If there are several cardholders on the account, the automated system will ask you to enter your first name. This makes sure that the new PIN is assigned to the right card.
  • Your PIN must be four numbers long and contain no repetitions or sequences of more than three digits.
  • Your PIN will also be required for cash advances.
  • You can only change your PIN once every 24 hours.

Does Desjardins store my information?

The Federation des caisses Desjardins du Québec uses a U.S.-based service provider to issue and manage the Desjardins U.S. Visa credit card. By applying for and using the Desjardins U.S. Visa card, you’re acknowledging that information on you and any other authorized representatives may be processed and stored in the United States. The cardholder and authorized representatives also acknowledge that this information may be accessed by the United States government, courts and regulatory authorities, under all applicable U.S. laws.

 

Can I use my Desjardins U.S. Visa card if I travel abroad?

Yes, you can use this card when you travel. However, any cash advance or purchase made in a currency other than the U.S. dollar, using the Desjardins U.S. Visa will be payable in U.S. dollars. The purchase amount will be converted on the date that the transaction slip is processed, at an exchange rate determined by the Federation des caisses Desjardins du Québec.  A currency conversion charge of 2.5% shall apply on any amount recorded in the account in foreign currencies and converted into U.S. dollars. The amount payable in currency conversion charges is deemed to be a regular purchase and shall be charged to the Desjardins U.S. Visa account on the date the currency is converted.

 

Can I use this card to make online purchases?

You can use your Desjardins U.S. Visa to make online purchases. However, some sites use geolocation systems and will automatically charge you in the currency of the country in which your computer or device is located. You could make a purchase on a U.S. website and be billed in Canadian dollars. We recommend checking which currency is being used before confirming your purchase.
